چکیده

FAOSTAT 2002 Nitrogen is, with water, the greatest global constraints to agricultural productivity. Sustainable cropping systems throughout history have relied on combining cereals with nitrogen-fixing legumes. However, over last fifty years, cereals have dominated global agriculture, while legume cultivation areas and productivity have stagnated or even declined. Global agriculture is now at a crossroads as a consequence of climatic changes, increased population pressure and detrimental impacts on the environment.

Azotobacter chroococcum: Utilization and potential use for agricultural crop production: An overview

It is important to develop integrated crop production strategies that enhance the productive ability of crops in a sustainable manner for the developing nations worldwide. Intensive farming practice of high yielding crop production is mainly dependent on chemical inputs as fertilizer, pesticide and weedicides. However, excessive use of chemical inputs has negative impact on environment in the f...

Evaluation Effect of Biological Fertilizer (Nitroxin case study) on Corn (Zea mays L.) Crop Production

The use of renewable resources and inputs is one of the fundamental principles of sustainable agriculture that enables maximum crop productivity and minimal environmental risk. Nutrient management may be achieved by the involvement of organic sources, bio-fertilizers, and micro-nutrients. Indiscriminate use of chemical fertilizers to achieve high yield and to compensate for lack of nutrients an...

Soil Fertility Map for Food Legumes Production Areas in China

Given the limited resources of fossil energy, and the environmental risks of excess fertilizer on crops, it is time to reappraise the potential role of food legume biological nitrogen fixation (BNF) as sources of nitrogen for cropping systems in China. 150 soil samples across 17 provinces and 2 municipalities of China were collected and analyzed. A distribution map of the soil fertilities and t...

Biofertilizers in Fruit Crops - a Review

BiofertiJizers are microbial preparations containing living cells of different microorganisms which have the ability to mobilize plant nutrients in soil from unusable to usable form through biological process. They are environmental friendly and play significant role in crop production. Previollsly it is mainly used for field crops but now-a-days it is used for fruit crops also. Biofertilizers ...

Tropical Soil Fertility Changes Under Monocultures and Successional Communities of Different Structure.

For 5 yr we monitored the fertility of a volcanic-ash derived Inceptisol at a site in the humid tropics of Costa Rica. After forest felling and burning, we established four treatments in a randomized block design with six blocks: a sequence of monocultures (two crops of maize [Zea mays] followed by cassava [Manihot esculenta], then the tree species Cordia alliodora), successional vegetation, a ...
